i l o v e camellias
growing up, we had a neighbor named camellia. maybe thats why. she had a high wall in her yard and if memory serves me correctly, it was covered in flowers. camellias, perhaps.
here are some facts about alabama's state flower from wikipedia:
- they are native to eastern and southern asia, from the himalaya east to korea and indonesia
- colors of the flowers vary from white through pink colors to red, but yellow flowers are found in just a few species
- the japanese camellia – often simply called "the camellia" – is the most prominent species in cultivation
international camellia society
american camellia society
Your nice storytelling adds to the interest of your blog. (P.S. Will all the peonies in the world consider me a traitor if I say that I love love love camellias?)
