i l o v e camellias
growing up, we had a neighbor named camellia. maybe thats why. she had a high wall in her yard and if memory serves me correctly, it was covered in flowers. camellias, perhaps.

here are some facts about alabama's state flower from wikipedia:
  • they are native to eastern and southern asia, from the himalaya east to korea and indonesia
  • colors of the flowers vary from white through pink colors to red, but yellow flowers are found in just a few species
  • the japanese camellia – often simply called "the camellia" – is the most prominent species in cultivation

  1. Your nice storytelling adds to the interest of your blog. (P.S. Will all the peonies in the world consider me a traitor if I say that I love love love camellias?)
